So what's with the Scary Dogs?

Even with the best alarm and antitheft devices, no other protective measure can be as efficient and as burglar deterrent as an angry 200 lbs. rottweiler. The merchandise clearly shows how, in spite the advance of technology could never surpass a guard dogs' efficiency in the role. Alarms that go beep loudly just couldn't deter burglars from entering, especially if they know if there isn't somebody to check on them. Guard dogs are chosen because they are scary dogs. Yes, doggie reputation plays a pivotal part. Rottweilers and some molosser breeds are ancient war dog breeds whose aggressive instincts aren't lost entirely. German shepherds are known for their exclusive use in peacekeeping. Pit bulls are known as mad dog, especially in the light of series of mangling recently. Burglars will be scared preemptively when they see (or hear) such menacing scary dogs guarding the threshold. The instant recognition for scary dogs is a plus, and more publicized breeds of scary dogs are enjoying just that.

There are other scary dogs as equally vicious (or worst). Like the Karelian Bear Dog, or the Japanese Tosa, or the Fila Brasileiro, or even the pit bull terrier (though with the recent news of man mangling the pit bull terrier have earned quite an infamy, often extending as ‘devil dog' or ‘killer dog'). These breed of scary dogs, because of their status quo, are more dangerous because they aren't the usual run of the mill guard dogs.

Guard dogs, to be effective, must be trainable as well as physically (and visually) vicious. With that, there will be little need for gun protection. Two rottweilers are more adequate than having a gun. And any aggressor with a gun will know that he can't shoot both dogs before anyone can overpower him to the ground.

In a nutshell, scary dogs are born. Like the pit bull or the rottweiler. Some scary dogs are trained, and they can be equally scary, just like German Shepherds. You don't need a gun to protect your property; any canine on a leash will do pretty well.
