Dog grooming: make them feel and look good

One of essential part of one's dog health is grooming. It is not only about clothes and bathing, yet dog grooming more importantly takes in combing, brushing and cleaning every part of the pet to remove dirt, dead hairs and avoid matting.

A dog who is religiously groomed tends to display shinier and healthier coat since dog grooming fuels the blood supply of their skin.

Dog's Coat

Brush your dog carefully each day. This will keep their hair in good form because the dirt is being removed, the natural oils are being spread all over the coat, it prevents tangles from forming, it will free them from any irritation and it will also maintain the cleanliness of their skin.

Ideally, start brushing the hair of your dogs during its early years yet when you get an older dog, of course it is never too late to do dog grooming onto them. Proceed gradually and make sure you are using heaps of praise and treats for the dog grooming experience to be fun.

Nails

Trim the nail of your dog every month. Get a well-sharpened nail clipper designed particularly for dogs. Guillotine or scissor clipper styles may be used. Purchase also a small blood-clotting powder bottle. Do the nail cutting gradually and in case of cutting its blood vessels and nerves, damp a blood-clotting powder on it.

The dog's ear is in pain and danger when they your dog continuously scratches it, displays redness, odor and their head shakes.

Check and clean the ears of your dogs twice in every month. Their skin inside as well as on their flaps must be light pink. Bring your pet to the veterinarian if you see any black, brown and red skin and they produce foul odor.

Use an amount of mineral oil and cotton ball to clean the ears. Avoid probing deeply in the canal of the ears.
Teeth

Even dogs can accumulate cavities and experience periodontal disease so it is important that teeth cleaning become part of dog grooming. Clean the dog's teeth using a pet's toothpaste twice a week. Ideally, use a small brush with soft bristles. If you cannot do the teeth cleaning yourself, you can always run to your veterinarian for them to do it.

Bathing

Bathing is essentially the main thing to when grooming dogs. Bathing includes lightly brushing their bodies prior, for the mats to get out of their coats.
