Home Remedy Cures For Pets And How The Cures Work

Animals are a gift of nature that everyone should appreciate. Pets common all forms, including mice, cats, dogs, guinea pigs, and so forth. Some people go as far as having a raccoon in the home. Personally, I room mated with a woman who had a raccoon as a pet. The raccoon, I felt was robbed of his natural habitats, yet learnt to love him.

While there are many pets in the home the primary pets we will focus on is dogs and cats, since they are the most common. Dogs and cats are similar in some ways, i.e. both will suffer similar illnesses. The treatment however differs in some ways, i.e. you would not treat heartworms found in cats the same as you would treat the worms in dogs. The medications for dogs are stronger. I brought this out because it is a major point, yet heartworms are difficult to treat, especially for dogs, therefore if you are searching for home remedy cure for dogs, research is still underway. The solutions however to relieve dogs from heartworms, and some of those solutions are found online. Interceptor is one of the prescriptions, rather nonprescription medications I found at affordable costs that will treat dog heartworms.

One of the less dramatic problems is ticks and fleas. Both cats and dogs often suffer bites from ticks and fleas. Let's start with ticks. Ticks are bloodsuckers, i.e. these annoying critters was suck through the skin, reaching the blood, and continue sucking. This can lead to complications.

How to remove ticks
With your thumb and pointing finger, clamp on to the ticks back. Squeeze slightly while pulling upward. If the tick is still intact, lift upward again, using more force. If this does not work, retrieve a match and burn that tick off the pet. You can also visit the pharmacist and requests flea and tick repellents. Various products are available that will remove ticks and fleas.

How to remove fleas
Fleas are annoying. Fleas will cause irritability and itching. If the fleas are not removed, a can lead to infections since the pet will dig into the flesh, pealing the skin. Open wounds are exposed to germs, dust, and other harmful particles that causes fungus, bacteria, and/or infections. To remove fleas, spread crushed garlic over the pet's coat, rubbing it into the flesh. Apply garlic every other day for the best results.

I am not sure if this is true, however I heard if you add a pinch of vinegar to the pet's water, it will also remove fleas. You might call your vet and ask for sure; however, vinegar has never hurt anyone.

There are also medications over-the-counter that will treat both ticks and fleas. The medications sometimes prove effective, especially if you follow directions. Some medications do not work, simply because the user uses the prescription and once the fleas appear gone, the medicine stops. This is not cool, since the prescriptions clearly state that after utilizing the medications, after ten days if the fleas are not gone, contact your vet. However, most prescription instructions clearly state to apply the medication even if the fleas appears gone, up to x amount of days. You should also comb your pet's hair at regular intervals while treating for fleas or not.

Some of the other common problems that pets endure are odors. To reduce odors groom the pet at a schedule. If you have a cat remove all solid wastes from the litter box made a basis. The litter itself should be changed weekly.
